1 400 ft. ball of Jute Twine
1 size I (5.5mm) crochet hook
1 stitch marker
Gauge: 3 sts x 3 rounds per inch (2.5 cm)
Finished Size: 12 ½ inches (32 cm) diameter
Sc- single crochet
Sl. St- slip stitch
Nxt st- Next stitch
Notes: Worked in spiral rounds. Use stitch marker to keep track of your place on the spiral and work to desired size. If you have too many or too few stitches at the end of a round to work increases, sc in each stitch to the end of the round.
R1: Chain 3; work 5 sc in last sc from hook; place marker.
R2: Work 2 sc in each stitch around until you reach the marked stitch; work 2 sc in this stitch and place marker in the top of the 2nd sc just worked.
R3: *Work 2sc in next st; sc in nxt st; repeat from * around
R4: *Work 2sc in next st; sc in nxt 2 sts; repeat from * around
R 5: * work 2sc in next st, sc in nxt 3 sts; repeat from * around.
Continue increasing rounds in this manner until work measures 4 inches (10 cm) from center, 8 inches (21 cm) across or to desired size.
R1: *chain 5, skip next 3 stitches, sc in 4th stitch repeat from * around, slip st. to join with first chain in round.
R2: * 7 sc in ch 5 loop; repeat from * around.
R3: *Ch5, sl st in center stitch of next loop; repeat around; end ch3, sl in 4th chain of loop below.
R4: *6 sc in each 5 ch loop, work 2 sc in each slip stitch, repeat from * around.
R5: sc in each stitch around working 2 sc in the same stitch directly above the increases worked in the row below.
R6: Repeat R5. Bind off and hide loose ends.
